Gherkin is a popular language to write test scripts for many companies. TIOBE has developed a code checker called DutchPickle to measure the quality of Gherkin test scripts. Currently DutchPickle currently implements 25 rules of the generic Gherkin coding standard that has been defined by TIOBE together with Philips.
There are a lot of extensions planned for this code checker. Apart from making it open source and productize it further, there are also a lot of new rules planned. An even more interesting move is to combine Gherkin with SpecFlow to perform checks across Gherkin and C# code.
This is really explorative and will help to boost the commercial value of the DutchPickle tooling.
